DeleteFirst of all congratulations on your son. Second, thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog...I hope it has been helpful to you in some way. I don't think that you meant to use the term "suffering" in regards to your son having Down syndrome. It is not something that you suffer from. Although I have only been a mom to Anthony for two short months...I also have a degree in special education. And, from my experience working with students with special needs it is important to understand that they all do things are their own pace. Your son may not be walking at this moment, and that is very typica for children with Down syndrome, but he will accomplish that milestone when he is ready. No need to be nervous. Just be patient and enjoy the joys of your son. Try to look at all of the positives and not compare him to other children. He is perfect just the way he is. There are many resources online concerning Down syndrome. If you need any specific websites let me know. Hope that helps!
